Ready to unlock your full potential?
In this video, I introduce my integrative approach.
Find out how I can help you make the changes you want in your life.
I’m Laury, a certified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist. I started my professional journey in Education, working in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Over time, my interest in self-development grew, leading to significant personal changes. I successfully overcame unwanted habits such as nail-biting and conquered my fear of flying. I became curious about the psychological factors behind what made such changes possible.
My growing fascination with mental health and well-being inspired me to delve deeper into the field of cognitive and behavioural therapies, and I learnt to use evidence-based hypnosis to enhance the effects of CBT.
Challenges may feel insurmountable.
We often unconsciously fall into the traps of self-sabotage and get stuck. Understanding the deep connections between our emotions, thoughts, and behaviours can lead us to identifying specific steps towards improvement.
My approach centres on helping you become aware of these interconnections and providing you with the support and skills to implement the changes that you want effectively. You can change and it can be a fast process.
I look forward to helping you gain insight, helping you change and take control, helping you towards a stronger and more resilient self.
You can live the life you truly want for yourself.
I combine Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with a modern approach to Hypnosis to provide a practical and effective therapeutic experience.
CBT is symptom-based and goal-focused. It is widely recognised as one of the most effective forms of talking therapy. Hypnotherapy enhances the effects of CBT and provides an additional layer of therapeutic benefit.
We will collaborate to uncover and understand the underlying factors contributing to the issue you wish to address, allowing us to gain insight into the emotional, behavioural, and cognitive patterns driving your symptoms.
Helping you feel better and live the life you really want is my priority.
We will agree on a treatment plan which will be uniquely crafted to your situation and needs, ensuring it resonates deeply and addresses your specific goal.
Your feedback will play a vital role in shaping and refining the treatment approach throughout our therapy sessions.
We will also collaboratively decide on a customised Action Plan to be implemented in between sessions to ensure rapid progress.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy requires active participation, and your commitment to following the Action Plan is essential to your success.
You can achieve meaningful and lasting change fostering personal growth and greater life satisfaction. I look forward to helping you.
I offer online sessions on Microsoft Teams, a free application downloadable on any computer or device. I conduct all my sessions online with clients from the UK and abroad.
Email me to arrange a free 30-minute initial chat. This will allow me to understand your goals and determine how I can help you, while you will get a sense of who I am and how we can work together.

Who Can Do Hypnosis?
Most people can do hypnosis, as it only involves focused attention and imagining "as if".
This type of hypnosis relies on your active participation, willingness and ability to focus your attention and engage in the process. It won't work if you are resistant or uninterested.
Hypnosis is not to be considered for:
What Hypnosis Am I Talking About?
What types of interventions will I use?
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy encompasses a wide range of therapies and techniques, including:
In therapy, there is no one-size-fits-all approach; everyone is different, and a therapy that suits one person may not work for another. Your well-being and helping you reach your goals are my top priorities. Setting a clearly defined goal is crucial for this process. I am confident and careful about the types of interventions we will choose to use. After the initial assessment, we will collaborate to determine what path to follow.
We will adjust and refine the treatment plan based on your feedback throughout therapy. Ultimately, it is about finding what works for you, what fixes your issue and enhances your well-being, and what helps you achieve your goal(s).
How does Hypnosis work? What will I feel?
Unlike the image conveyed in popular culture, you will be fully engaged and active during hypnosis. This non-trance approach will allow you to gain insight, rehearse situations, feel more in control, and learn new responses in the targeted real-life situations.
I use hypnosis as an adjunct to cognitive behavioural therapies, not as a therapy on its own.
What does Cognitive Behavioural Therapy look like?
Initial Assessment and Goal Setting
A comprehensive intake form to understand your background, issues, and goals. This initial assessment helps in identifying and prioritising both short-term and long-term goals, laying the foundation for a tailored approach to treatment.
Developing together a Treatment Plan that suits your needs
Discussing and finalising a personalised treatment plan, breaking down long-term goals into achievable short-term targets. Establishing metrics for tracking progress, ensuring that each step is measurable and aligned with your objectives.
Implementing the Treatment Plan
Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques to challenge and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. Incorporating coping skills and relaxation exercises to manage stress and increase self-awareness. Practising new behaviours and responses through behaviour experiments, role-playing, imaginal rehearsals, and encouraging activities to track thoughts, feelings, and progress.
Developing Resilience and Confidence
Reflecting on progress and adjusting the treatment plan as necessary. Identifying and reinforcing effective coping strategies, developing a support network, and utilising external resources to bolster resilience and confidence.
Building Self-Therapy Skills
Equipping you with tools and techniques to become your own therapist, maintaining a balanced lifestyle that supports your mental well-being independently in the long term.
Regular Review and Adjustment
Using feedback to guide treatment, ensuring that the approach remains aligned with your evolving needs. Flexibility and readiness to adjust the treatment plan based on ongoing assessment and feedback.
Maintenance Plan
Preparing you for the conclusion of formal therapy by collaboratively establishing a maintenance plan so that you feel confident about the future.
What does research say about Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy?
Research indicates that the combination of CBT and hypnosis can be particularly effective.
For instance, a meta-analysis published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis found that integrating hypnosis with CBT often results in better treatment outcomes compared to CBT alone, particularly in the treatment of anxiety.
Another study published in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy showed that hypnotic techniques could significantly augment the benefits of CBT in reducing symptoms of depression and stress. By combining these two approaches, individuals may experience more profound and lasting changes in their emotional well-being and overall life satisfaction.
